TVD new arrivals // Travelling done different

Dear Dayre,

HELLO it's October already. I mean, where did the year gooooo! Less than three months to the end of the year.

Horrorsssss.

#thevelvetdolls's first collection for the month will be released tonight! ❤️

Gearing up into the best part of the year for shopping, whoop whoop! I'm loving the designs we're launching tonight!

Starting with my favouritest design – This wide-legged culottes jumpsuit that's just lovely 😍

Ever-versatile and so easy to wear, this is great for all kinds of occasions from office days to weekend dates to dinners!

It's all about how you accessorize with this 💓 I like going for a pair of statement earrings and simple heels!

We have the Chloe Cross Front Jumpsuit in Black and Forest – All the girls kept Forest but I'm a classic sort of person and I kept Black 😅

The fabric for this is very good quality and you'll definitely be getting lots of bang for your buck for this piece.

Sizes S, M & L!

Next up, we've got this simple and sweet piece – Paradigm Pleated Sleeve Dress!

This is super fuss-free and comfy yet retains its style factor with the pleated cold-shoulder details 🙌🏻

Loose-fit means it's good for feel-fat days too lol I'm feeling super fat after Europe and loose dresses have been my staple 😅

We're moving into Fall/Winter soon and all the gorgeous oranges and reds are coming back! This dress comes in a beautiful shade of Rust and also basic Navy for the less adventurous ladies 😊

Let's not forget the pockets too! Functionality + form!

Sizes XS, S, M & L!

Something a little different – A cape toga top that comes in three colors!

I love how this looks paired with jeans, but I also see it a lil more casual with shorts, or with formal pants for a dresses up look.

You can't go wrong with black/white!

If you're looking for a fresh color in your wardrobe, this jade is super nice!

Kyra Toga Cape Top comes in Grey, Black & Jade 😊

Sizes S, M & L!

I love wrap dresses because of how flattering they are, usually!

This feminine number has got the prettiest prints on a robin blue base and a wrap skirt that ends nicely in a side ribbon.

The fit is awesome and the sleeves are the perfect length for hiding flabby arms 😂

Sizes S, M & L!

Another easy dress that I love 💓💓💓

This dress has a simple slip cut but with a unique layered color block hem!

It can be worn on its own, or paired with an inner piece like what we did here for a fun and preppy look.

Pick from either Navy x Jade or Wine x Navy!

It's made from a light-weight polyester blend that will keep you cool even in the sweltering weather.

Sizes S, M & L!

Haven't had enough of summer? This cute dress will surely put you in a good mood with its adorable layers! 😍

Sling over your straw bag and you're all ready for the sun!

Sizes S, M & L 😊

Lastly, this floral eyelet top that comes with tie back details!

It's really a pain to tie this up (can be done by yourself but way easier with help) but it's so so so pretty I couldn't resist bringing it in.

Love the victorian collar and slight ruffles at the shoulder!

Sizes S, M & L!

New arrivals rolling in on www.thevelvetdolls.sg st 8.30PM!

Anyway guys, I just wanna say that jet lag is real and it's hitting me hard 😂 Haven't been able to adjust back properly yet cos of my late nights and it's terrible!

The last time I was this jet lagged was probably when I went to USA in 2015 😥

Time zones are such a killer, man.

Might as well be productive while you're awake?

I went to DAISO yesterday to pick up some stuff like ziplock bags, laundry bags and makeup brush cleaner – Wanted to grab more things but you know DAISO really 买不完的 you'll end up getting everything you don't need so I decided to control a bit first and just get the stuff I've been meaning to buy for some time!

So yes 👆🏻👆🏻👆🏻 I spent 30 mins sorting out all my foreign currencies because they were getting soooo messy.

A good tip if you frequent some countries (like Bangkok, Taiwan etc) or like me you travel too freaking much and have lots of random foreign currencies lying around – Just use small ziplock bags for each separate currency, you can use the bag to put notes, coins and even ezlink cards for easy access the next time you fly to the same country again!

I especially hate the coins getting mixed up, so I decided to sort them out for once and for all. YAY.

$2 makeup brush cleanser from DAISO – Heard of this for the longest time and this is the first time I've actually bought it and tried it!

Not too bad at all for $2 I suppose! Washed some brushes and feeling good about it 😂

Anyway, I did a poll on IG Stories and most people voted for Hokkaido blog posts over Europe!

I'll be drafting out the Hokkaido blog posts first but I'll probably stagger them along with Europe blog posts 😊

Already working on the first Hokkaido blog post, which is the entire trip itinerary! 👌🏻

👆🏻 Taken in Dresden, Germany while road tripping from Berlin to Prague!

I know a lot of you very kpo ah. Hahahaha 😂 So here's another photo with 👳🏻 lolol got post 等于没有 like that.

Road trips are super awesome though. I've never really done road trips before this, but as 👳🏻 loves to drive, road trips are like a no-brainer! Though the planning can get stressful at times, so far they've been pretty good 😊 You'll read more about how to plan your own self-drive road trip in my Hokkaido post!

Another new aspect to travelling that I'd never explored previously – Staying in serviced apartments and airbnbs with kitchens that allow you to cook!

I can't cook. But 👳🏻 is a huge Gordon Ramsay fan and shopping for produce overseas is so fun! I think the cooking is fun for 👳🏻 too but I'm happy just eating what he cooks 😂😂😂

Eating in can be a lot more affordable than eating out too!!

👳🏻 made this red wine oxtail stew while we were in Sydney.

We put the entire pot into the oven for a few hours and the end result was just 🤤 It was so so so so yummy! Meat falling off the bone and all that.

Prepping the fresh ingredients!

Getting some grill on the oxtail before the red wine goes in and everything went into the oven 🤤

Best part is it tasted even better for breakfast the next day! The stew was so flavourful and all the root vegetables had absorbed all the wonderful flavours of the red wine and beef.

Fraser Suites Kensington in London had the most amazing kitchen – We went grocery shopping at Waitrose nearby and whipped up a small feast with just 15 pounds!

Bacon wrapped roast chicken stuffed with onion and lemon before going into the oven!

🤤🤤🤤

It was really very yummy! The produce is fresher and heartier for sure and the flavours really shone even in the simple dishes.

The left over chicken we couldn't finish was shredded up for chicken soup while the chicken bones were used for the chicken broth with some carrots and onions thrown in. 👳🏻 cooked an onsen egg, then added some sautéed broccolini and asparagus at the side to complete the dish.

Super delicious!

我真的很有口福 🤤 It's no wonder I've been putting on weight because 👳🏻 loves feeding me so much. 😒 Not really complaining because it's quite 😍😍😍 to see your man cooking for you 🤗

👳🏻 even takes the effort and goes through extra thought process to plate the food nicely cos he knows I like to take pictures of my food and all 💓

But anyway, my point being that it's actually very fun to go grocery shopping and cook at "home" while travelling too! It's cost-efficient as well instead of eating out every meal.

Looking at the pictures I just posted is making me hungryyyy. Haven't had a proper meal all day and I'm waiting for dinner right now!

👳🏻👳🏻👳🏻❤️
