Dear Dayre,
I have an unfortunate confession to make.
I put on 3kg ever since I starting dating π³π» and it's not funny π
3kg doesn't sound like a lot but it issssssssss. All the shorts I bought at my lightest weight are friggin tight on me now π
π³π» also put on some weight as well hahahaha. He put on 3 or 4kg and I can definitely see it showing on his belly π
Whenever I whine about getting fat, π³π»'s response will be "I love you very much darling regardless of how heavy you are and I think you are very attractive no matter what."
Which is all very comforting and well, but it doesn't change the fact that I'm fat π
So I've decided to start on my "healthier living" regime, which means cutting down on all the junk, excessive carbs and late night suppers that I've been having over the past six months.
Let's not forget the holiday indulging. I travel too much and if I'm always letting myself indulge during my travels, it's tantamount to letting myself go all the time la π
So to all my supper buddies and meal time friends, please remind me of my commitment to my "healthier living" regime from now on!
Late night suppers π π» I will be there but I won't eat carbs π π» No more sweetened beverages for me π π» I'll stick to my water and zero calorie teas π π» Half the portion of my carbs from now on π π» Cut down on junk food π π» It's ok to have a little but NO binging π π»
Ever since I came back from the UK, I've been wanting to make my own overnight oats because I had some store-bought ones in the UK and they were so yummy!!!
I dragged π³π» to go grocery shopping with me yesterday and he gave me that "You ain't gonna last very long eating this food" look.
To which he is SO wrong. Cos I really love the taste of the overnight oats leh! I shall prove him wrong hahaha.
We bought a handful of ingredients – rolled oats, chia seed, yogurt, soy milk and fruits!
Made my own version of overnight oats last night and πππππ I love it! Super yummy can!!!
green apple walnut overnight oats
what's inside (good for 2 portions)
2 tbs chia seeds
5 tbs rolled oats (cowhead brand)
1 green apple (sliced & chopped)
2 single serving portions plain yogurt (meiji)
4 tbs soy milk (nutrisoy)
1 tbs manuka honey
1 handful walnuts
I guess-stimated the amount of ingredients to put in and it tastes perfectly yummy today! A little on the gooey side, I suppose you can add more milk to make the consistency lighter?
I use soy milk because I'm not a fan of regular milk.
refrigerate overnight & you're good to go!
probably can add more yogurt and put less chia seeds hahahaha the chia seeds became damn a lot after they "bloated".
anyways overnight oats are really easy to make and so fuss free! gonna try to make them more often from now on! πππ
I wanted to find pomegranate seeds to add to my overnight oats but couldn't find them. dried cranberries, blueberries and strawberries are also on the list for my next overnight oats attempt!
There are so many recipes online so you can google for them if you're interested! I prefer the boring fruit variations though there are all sorts of funky ones like chocolate peanut butter and the likes.
