Dear Dayre,
Midnight flight + transit and finally landed in Hokkaido in the afternoon!!!!!!!!!
WHEEEEE.
First stop to Noboribetsu for onsen where I'm also staying the night π
Lucky to get nice blue skies today and it wasn't that hot too!!
Looks rainy tomorrow though.
I didn't do much itinerary planning. Gonna take it free and easy and relaxed π€ ζ―δΈζ―θδΊ.
Am most excited about eating good food and exploring the supermarkets and convenience stores π
Mt Rainer has a new summer limited edition flavour called Salty Vanilla so of course I bought it to try!
Peaches aka momo for only 580 yen (four peaches)!
Super cheap please. Just bought two for $30 the other day in Singapore zzz. Haven't tried them so I hope they are sweet and juicy!!
I'm going to gorge myself on fruits everyday. Peach, melon, cherries, kyoho grapes, there is no escaping me!
Oh and my fav fruit water. Grape flavour is limited edition too!
The best milk ice cream = cremia. This is da bomb I'm telling ya.
That milky ice cream and buttery biscuit cone combination is so decadent and delicious.
Lunch at Log House Bibi – A wagyu yakiniku restaurant quite near the airport so it's good for a pitstop if you're driving!
I won't say it's the best but it's pretty good though not super affordable.
You can check out the rough prices on the menu here!
But still tasted really good – The first meal after touch down is always a yummy one π
Finally reached the hotel after a long drive!
The roads are easy to navigate so it wasn't too much of a chore really.
This is where I'm staying for a night – Ryotei Hanayura!
I booked this for the rooms that come with private onsen. But it's SUPER BLOODY EXPENSIVE.
Onsen looked a bit underwhelming but the moment I got into it I was like "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh." So shiok. I love onsens la.
The kaiseki dinner prepared by the hotel was incredible though.
Everything was so artfully and intricately prepared, though half the time I wasn't sure what I was eating and whether I liked it or not π
Hairy crab!
Got some work done after dinner and a short nap – All ready for our first collection of August for #thevelvetdolls!
And then I headed back into the onsen for another soak. Must get my money's worth for this onsen π I'm actually tempted to go in for another soak now but that's quite crazy because it's 1am already.
Feeling so much better now – I always feel like death after a long red eye flight!
Now I'm so refreshed I can't sleep wtf what is this problem π Tomorrow's breakfast is at 8.30am!
This is my third onsen soak of the day hahaha abit ε€ΈεΌ but hey I paid good money for this!
I'm gonna turn into a shrivelled prune by the time I leave Hokkaido π
If anyone has got amazing recommendations for food or sightseeing, PLEASE SHARE! πππ
My current rough itinerary is –
Noboribetsu (1 night)
Bike/Furano (2 nights)
Lake Toya (1 night)
Jozankei (1 night)
Sapporo (2 nights)
β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ If you have anywhere to recommend around the above areas, I would be very grateful!
Since I can't get to sleep yet, I might as well share a sneak preview of tomorrow's new arrivals!
This top is one of my favs!
Me loves off-shoulder styles cos they are so flattering and feminine β€οΈ It comes in three really gorgeous colors that's very hard to pick from, I had a difficult time!
White is a classic that you can't go wrong with.
But the mustard is SUPER nice! Contemplating if I should keep mustard as well.
Black is understated chic without a doubt.
How, which color would you pick? π Comes in S, M & L, I wear M!
Remember this beautiful long lace cardigan I wore some time ago the last time I was in Japan?
Stocks are finally here and ready to launch! π€
This dreamy piece has got such a romantic vibe. π It can be worn as a dress too with an inner slip, but I personally like it as a outerwear! Would look fab as a beach cover-up too!
Love the flowy-ness of this piece! Comes in S, M & L and I wear M.
Gathered sleeves and ruffles are all the rage right now, but I only like them tastefully done like on this wrap dress! π
I received a lot of compliments when I wore it for an event last week β€οΈ Comes in XS, S, M & L, I wear M!
Fans of our popular Mayhem Midi might like this – Melinda Fishtail Midi Dress as well! The way the skirt flows into an asymmetrical tail is soooo pretty!
The fabric is really good as well, smooth and luxe. It comes with pockets too!
Pick from Pink, Jade or Grey! Sizes XS, S, M & L for this β€οΈ
If you're looking for a work dress to brighten up your wardrobe, this lace number is just the thing! Love the sunny daffodil yellow with grey colorblock combi! It's so simple and fuss-free too.
Comes in XS, S, M & L!
Another piece I kept is this embroidered denim skirt! A-line skirts are just very easy to wear, and they look so flattering!
The embroidery details are so lovely! Comes in S, M & L, I wear M too π
Last item of the collection is this dress that I brought along with me to Hokkaido so I hope I get to wear it haha π If the weather permits!
Love love love the floral prints and the skirting details! Comes in S & M if I remember right.
It's 2am now – Gonna try to crash so I can wake up fresh and early tomorrow! Night night, y'all! π
The sun rose at 4.18 or something wtf. I finally got to sleep but before I knew it it was time to get up for breakfast already π
Toasted hokkaido milk bread with jam and butter – Don't know what magic is in this but it tastes so good!
Kaiseki breakfast set that had rice, soup and an assortment of fish and sashimi!
And free-flow melon for breakfast.. WHACK. So sweet and juicy omg!
Had to check out by 10am and then it's off for sightseeing at the famous Hell Valley – Jigokudani that's well known for its natural hot springs and geothermal activity!
Wore out my new dress today and it's love πππ
Check out the huge billowing clouds of steam! Apparently the water temperature at the bottom of this lake goes up to 130 deg if I remember rightly.
Spotted cute little fungi along the way π
Trekked around 2km to reach this natural hot springs foot bath at Jigakudani – The water was legit hot man! I couldn't even submerge my feet for more than ten seconds at a time π
So fun! π€
This place was more picturesque than I expected!
GUESS WHAT GUYS π Spotted this beautiful red fox just wandering around on the road! Omg good thing it didn't become roadkill π°
It wasn't shy and didn't try to run away and even came up to the car curiously! Stayed in the car but snapped this picture of the fox. Aren't its eyes gorgeous? π
It reminds me of my fur baby Chewy π
Did a stopover at the town of Yubari – famous for their Yubari melons!
One melon costs from 1200 yen to 3000 yen.. You can buy one and they'll cut it open on the spot for you to have!
Can you see how incredibly juicy the melon was? πππ
This was pretty much lunch π
The entire melon was so sweet, fragrant and juicy!
Finally arrived at Furano after a long drive – roughly three hours from Noboribetsu through to Yubari and then Furano!
I booked a stay at this bnb called Petit Melon Furano for two nights. It's quite cosy and nice!
β€οΈ
There's lavender, grapevines and hydrangea bushes right outside the house and the lavender smells so good!
Past. New arrivals now up on www.thevelvetdolls.sg! π
