MY EYE IS DYING *dramatic*
Ok no it isn't lah. But it's been super uncomfortable and painful since I woke up on Sunday morning and I have been unable to function like a regular human being ever since!
It feels like the kind of pain/discomfort you get from very very dry contact lens. Except I haven't worn contact lens in about a month.
Remember when I said my eye was feeling irritated when the haze started? It's the same eye, except the irritation is now ten fold 😭
Pardon the no filter photo.
My eye was giving me so much irritation that I went back to Graceous to get my lash extensions removed, just in case! Tomoki-san was extremely sweet and called me straight away after I texted him, to arrange for me to go down ASAP!
Well it had to happen on a Sunday of all days (clinics and eye centers all closed), and better still a Sunday that I had rehearsal on! Tolerated the discomfort through rehearsal, took an Uber down to Purvis street to get my lash extensions removed.
Then at night, I went to the pharmacy and got this eye gel on recommendation of my friend. After which I went to sleep and hoped that it would be better when I woke up this morning.
Unfortunately I woke up with my eye still feeling roughly the same discomfort and still looking very disturbing and so I'm gonna go see a GP now and maybe visit the eye centre if necessary.
The discomfort and sensitivity is so bad my eye just keeps tearing non-stop, and blinking is a nuisance.
So this is how to get a nicer and thicker double eyelid without surgery. 😂
I KID. My eye looks horrible now. Can't even open properly 😩
I'm not too sure what caused this though 😟 This eye has always been more sensitive than the other eye and sometimes, removing contact lens from this particular eye is very painful. Maybe I have a tear in my cornea or something. 😕 But I have been abstaining from wearing lenses, even in Japan, because I've been feeling mild irritation in this eye.
Heading to the doctor's now. 👌🏻 The infamous Dr Tay at Bedok Reservoir hahahaha
Decided to book an appointment at the specialized eye clinic recommended by @meowsyy instead!
Appointment is in three hours time from now so I'm heading back home to rest. 😩 Eye feels a little better already though, but I think I might as well get a specialized check up to see if there's any old injury on the cornea or something like what @meowsyy said!
At the eye clinic now and got some funky eye tests done.
1. Machine with a picture to test my vision
2. Machine that blew puffs of air into my eyes to test my cornea pressure (??)
3. A alphabet-identifying test that I failed at miserably.
4. Two drops of stuff to dilate my eyes and not sure do what else.
Now I'm waiting for the doctor to come! 快点快点~~~~
My eyes actually feel slightly numb and no longer painful now after those magic eye drops! 👍🏻
Still swollen-looking though >.<
$236 poorer later….
I'm walking out of the clinic with a "bandage lens" over my cornea! Cool or what?
Anyways, the diagnosis is that I have a pretty big abrasion on my cornea that is also infected! 😩
That's why it hurts when I remove contact lens and probably somehow this injury got infected recently (maybe the haze) and acted up badly.
Doctor says the injury can't heal because every time I blink, the eyelid removes the layer of skin that's trying to heal. So I had a clear "bandage" lens put in my eye to help promote healing! Apparently this lens can be worn to sleep and all that.
Along with lubricant eye drops and an antibiotic eye drop.
很贵 😭 But eyes don't play play! At least there was a cause diagnosed and a remedy. Guess I'll be staying away from contact lens and lash extensions for the next few weeks!
It's not the end (yes I have to spend more money) because I need to go back for a follow-up in two days time, on Wednesday! 💸💸💸
By the way @meowsyy, Dr Ho asked me who recommended me to the clinic so I told him I write a blog and a reader commented and recommended him 😂
Kinda sian to have to spend money but let's play safe when it comes to health! 眼睛只有一双 👀
Thank you all for the well-wishes!! 🙆🏻🙆🏻🙆🏻
Spent the entire day basically doing nothing: waiting around to see the doctor and then sleeping/resting whenever possible.
I had to push back a photoshoot too because there was no way to shoot with the eye like this 😪 Need to get back to work! 💪🏻
Also, I still have my last one and a half days of Japan to update.. Will finish up my updates soon! 😁
