Dear Dayre,
I'm back to update ^.^ #yinagoestojapan
Sorryyyy… It's been hectic in Tokyo and I was having too good a time to update consistently heh~~~
Let me pick up from where we left off! The day we left our beautiful apartment and neighborhood in Kyoto to take the bullet train for Tokyo!
We took one last shot outside our apartment for memory's sake. β€οΈ It was a lovely three nights in this apartment!
ByeBye to the lovely Kyoto-ian streets!
Our last breakfast at the apartment: Combini (convenience store) food!! Instant noodles, oden, and a random hamburg patty and croquette that we got from Takashimaya food hall the previous night, and heated up in the morning π
I love the radish in oden and I bought it for at least three days, so yummy!
Japanese instant noodles are super too. So much easy access to delicious junk food is a sin.
Inspired to Japify my floral romper with a denim jacket and a brand new wool cap from GU that I got for 790Β₯ one night in Kyoto!
Imagine my surprise when we reached the train station and met up with Woon and family to find out that three of us girls received the same mystery memo and were all matchy in florals π
En route to Tokyo! πβ¨
Shinkansen from Kyoto to Tokyo takes just 158 minutes π We really maxed out our JR passes this trip with the number of Shinkansens we took!
From Narita to Kyoto, Kyoto to Nagoya to Takayama and back, and from Kyoto to Tokyo!
So we arrived at Tokyo in the afternoon and went to look for our Roomorama apartment at Ebisu!
I was so friggin excited because so far I've been staying in great apartments and locations.
But when we located our new home for the next two days just a 6 mins walk away from Ebisu station, we were blown away!
πππππ
ε€ͺηΎδΊ!
The kitchen was fully stocked up with snacks, drinks and even a Nespresso machine!! So so impressed. And you should have seen the toilet/bathroom area!!
It was so big with separate areas for shower and toilet and washing up. Plus got washing machine and dryer and lots of nifty stuff like a bathtub heater and dunno what that I didn't know how to operate π
The bed. SO SO MAD COMFY π
Small but useful full length mirror!
Look at the bathroom area!
Full kitchen utilities though we didn't really get the chance to use it.
Oh, here's the view from my Roomorama apartment, which is on the 8th level! Pretty awesome, huh?
Having takoyaki that we bought from opposite the station!
Which wasn't as good as the one we had in Osaka by the way, so now I know. Osaka is really the best place for takoyaki!
The first place that I brought YZ to in Tokyo: Shibuya!
We actually walked our way from Ebisu to Shibuya because it's not too far off, it was probably a thirty minutes stroll, which was so comfortable because of the cool weather!
Here we are at Shibuya Crossing! Wanted to get a nice photo of us but there were seriously just too many people, it was difficult and didn't look nice too π
But we went upstairs to the Starbucks to watch the crossing and I showed YZ how to use time-lapse to create a video of the crossing heh. He was super amused by that!
Doing a 360 on the streets of Shibuya! π«
And we ended up for dinner at Matsuya, which is a chain restaurant very similar to Yoshinoya!
It's my newfound love! The beef bowl is really good (though taste not as good as the one at Tsukiji lah, but the meat is very generous)!
I'd say it's even better than Yoshinoya too even though the Yoshinoya in Japan still beats Singapore's hands down.
As you know, stomach space is very important in Japan, so we ordered one small beef bowl, and an additional serving of beef!
S H I O K.
Second dinner after Matsuya πππ At another chain restaurant called Sutadonya!
This one is a pork and spring onion bowl!!! π
I did something really stupid π Wanted to order one small bowl with additional meat, like what I did at Matsuya. Butttttttt
Ended up with… Two bowls π
One mini bowl and one regular bowl with additional meat cos I ordered wrongly πΆ
I thought that the ordering system was like Matsuya! And the additional meat is an extra add-on without rice. But oopsssss got it wrong and two bowls of rice came π
And on top of that we ordered one side order of gyoza too π²
ζ»ζ~~~
But YZ damn zai he managed to finish his bowl with extra meat! I only finished the meat on mine and left most of the rice π
Next time I'll go back to Sutadonya with an empty stomach so that I can eat the pork bowl and enjoy it properly! It was super fragrant and tasty but the pork is very salty cos you're supposed to mix it up with the rice and eat it together.
Gudetama plushie! We went to a game
shop and tried to catch plushies but gave up after 600 or 700 yen… π Not that easy after all π’
We were soooo full we walked home from Shibuya to Ebisu! Took us half a hour and we got home to our comfortable apartment. Whoop!
Will update with my last one and a half days in Tokyo soon!
