HAPPY SG50 NATIONAL DAY!!!!
Even opening up Uber made me go "Awwww" because of the cute SG themed cars on the mini map ❤️🇸🇬
And I took UberX twice today, first from AMK to uber far (not punning) Buona Vista for brunch and then from Holland Village to Bedok.
Heng I still have some $10 Uber ride credits so each ride only cost me $6-$8. Lucky me! Actually SG is so small and compact that traveling across island-wide isn't that much of a problem really. #thingsiappreciateaboutsg
You'll get $10 off your first Uber ride too if you key in the promo code "YINAG" when you download the app and create an account! And I get $10 credits too 😁
Super support Uber-ing cos I use it so frequently 😂😂😂
Made a date with my gfs out for brunch early morning because poor YZ is currently in reservist serving the nation while we enjoy our national day! So I 趁机 spend some time with my dear gfs ❤️
We wanted to meet at 10am initially but all of us didn't make it in time and it became 11am hahahaha! But thank God 11am was still relatively early because it started getting so crowded after noon!!
And yes we are all in RED AND WHITE!!! 🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬
How often do we get to celebrate our nation's 50th birthday!!!
Even Snapchat knows I'm feeling patriotic today~~
Just check out this super cute SG50 themed sticker for Snapchat!
I wanted to find a white bottom but couldn't find one at 娘家. Settled for a red, black and white outfit, fully from #thevelvetdolls!!!
Teeheeee red and white errrthang! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Go Singaporeeeee!
Many other people I saw today were all wearing variations of red and white too. How heartwarming! I think it's really nice to have everyone show their country some love just by decking out in national colors.
I thought it'd be a good idea to journey to the west all the way to Buona Vista to brunch at Paddy Hills, a place I've been wanting to visit for the longest time!
It's so far away from me but well figured no better day than National Day morning cos the roads are usually less congested on PH mornings ☺️
Over ordered.. As usual 😓
Four girls that eat a lot. Eat even more together.
But in my opinion the dishes at Paddy Hills are quite hit and miss.
Here's what's good:
Berry Ricotta Pancakes
Kimchi Fried Rice
What I felt were meh:
Garden by the Hill (some salmon quinoa thing that wasn't very outstanding)
The kimchi fried rice was surprisingly good!! Nice balance of flavours and textures.
Of course you need to order the Berry Ricotta Hotcake because it's super photogenic and everyone needs to IG it if they eat at Paddy Hills lol.
But seriously speaking, I really liked the hotcake because it tasted like sweet butter sponge cake with crispy edges!! There's also ricotta cheese in it which I didn't particularly like since I'm not big on cheese but I really liked the Hotcake on its own with the fruits. 😋
Think our bill came up to $140++ for 4 mains, 2 sides, 4 drinks!
Always happy with my bestest friends and loved ones over good food. Blessed indeed ☺️
Fantastic long weekend for sure!
From Paddy Hills, it's about 15 minutes walk away from Haw Par Villa MRT and we thought we would walk over since it was quite near.
HPV brings back childhood memories of being traumatized by the 18 gates of hell hahahaha.
True blue iconic Singapore memory for the 80s babies.
And something that will probably never happen again ever: FREE PUBLIC TRANSPORT DAY!!!
We took the train from HPV to Holland Village!
Ironically the four of us have probably never taken a train together in Singapore before although we have done it several times overseas.
So here's a selfie to commemorate the occasion! ☺️
After which we chilled for abit before I went home and took an afternoon nap before waking up to watch NDP hahahaha best kind of Sunday 🙌🏻
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO My BELOVED SINGAPORE!
"Home" acapella arrangement sang by my choir ☺️ This video was put together by Woon, showcasing all the individual members and snippets of home and Singapore.
And the duet version that YZ and I recorded during last National Day!
So sad he's on duty protecting the nation so he's not spending this year's national day with me 😩
Well I also just celebrated my own birthday a few days ago and my other girlfriends threw me a dinner party at The Black Swan last night!!! (which was why I didn't wake up in time this morning for brunch hahaha got home so late!)
My first (and only thus far) birthday cake of the year thanks to darling @evonnz. Happy birthday to me!
Had a cocktail making class upstairs The Black Swan, at their newly opened The Powder Room! 😍 So much funnnnnn!
Thanks to my loves for celebrating my birthday for me! I'm a lucky lucky girl!
Oh and storewide 20% off on TVD just for the special Jubilee weekend! ❤️🙌🏻
