πŸ’ Getting my bling on! ✨

Dear Dayre,

YAY. Guess what? I finally got my engagement ring confirmed! Hahahahaa.

It's been more than a year since I got engaged but up til now, I actually don't have the bling to prove it. Lol.

Reason being when YZ proposed to me on my birthday last year August, we were already looking at rings at Jann Paul but were deciding on a customized setting. He then wanted to surprise me with the proposal so he bought a fake diamond ring from Chinatown for like less than $20 and used that to propose to me.

And of course I accepted his proposal even without the real ring and I kept telling him that this was probably the cheapest proposal ever.

At first, YZ was very insistent on getting a good-sized diamond for me and we were looking at one carat diamonds before the proposal and nearly confirmed on this one here.

But as time went by after the proposal, suddenly, a huge rock on my finger didn't seem as important to both of us and I managed to convince YZ that I don't need such a big rock anyway? I mean, diamonds are pretty scant on value, really. Except for how impressive it looks when it's big and flashy, I guess.

I could do so much more with that additional $10,000 (the price discrepancy between a 1 carat and 0.6 carat diamond ring)!

Like seriously.. Diamonds are nice but not that nice. So anyway, having an engagement ring didn't seem so pressing after I'd already accepted YZ's proposal, and we never got around to going back to confirm on the diamond and setting until now, more than one year later πŸ˜… Talk about procrastination!

Since the wedding is in less than four months time, obviously if we put it off any longer, I won't even see the need for an engagement ring any more, and thus we finally made the time to go back down to JP to pick the diamond and finalize my customized ring setting!

Now it's all paid for and the ring itself should get to us in the next 6-8 weeks or so. 😁 I told YZ he can always propose again with the real ring this time. πŸ™ˆ

Selfie-ing while at JP earlier hahaha. Yay! One year after my engagement, and I'm finally gonna get my engagement ring hahahaha. Sounds so silly. But I'm happy that it only cost less than $5k as opposed to $14k! And then next up is getting the wedding bands as well.. πŸ˜…

Getting married is really expensive in Singapore, man.

I love my customized ring setting (I personally care more about the ring setting than the size of the diamond lol) and I can't wait to see the real thing when it's ready! 😍

This is a 3D render of the ring, and once confirmed it'll be crafted out by the goldsmith and have the diamond that we picked set into it.

I chose a more intricate design with a sort of Victorian vintage feel because I really like the filigree details. Hehe. And a 6-prong instead of 4-prong for a more classic look!

And that fake ring that YZ used to propose to me.. I took it off immediately once we got off stage on that day and told him to keep the ring and I'll wait for the real deal to come. Who would have known my wait would be more than a year. πŸ˜‚ Ah well.

There's a long long story behind the proposal and another long long story about diamond rings which is too much to go into detail about so let's just say I'm very glad we're all done with choosing and paying for the ring (finally)!!

Speaking of rings.. I met dear @jazreeltan today and she passed me the gorgeous alphabet rings I ordered from her online store Sensibar! 😍

We squeezed in time for a short meet-up today, next time we must make more free time to spend together alright! @jazreeltan's one of those that a couple hours spent together never seems to suffice for the amount of catching and talking that we have to do.

You know how some people just instantly click with you from the second you meet?

Jaz's one of the few friends that I met online and then brought our online friendship into the physical world. It's amazing how much we can talk about! Just about everything. And we're also very similar because Jaz is currently pursuing her love for jewelry making and is the founder of online store Sensibar which offers customized accessories made with so much love!!

It's from people like these around me that I draw my strength and inspiration from. ☺️

Bonding over some pretty delish food, no dieting for dinner today cos I needed to take food photos for an assignment anyway. πŸ˜…

Time spent together today was too short! But it's ok, we will meet up again soon okay! ☺️

Now I'm back home after rehearsal and I have lots of work to do. Getting my images done up for TVD's next collection and I also need to work on two campaigns.

Photo editing time! πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ
