If you guys have been following me on my blog, Instagram and Dayre regularly, you’d know that I’ve been trying my very best to slim down, because my wedding day is now only about nine months away and I really want to look my best on the big day! TT_TT
But you know how stubborn some fats are, no matter what you do, it’s so hard to get them off! And for me, my most stubborn areas has got to be my tummy and love handles, which refuse to go away no matter how I try to get rid of them! 🙁
So after doing a fair bit of research, I finally decided to go for Liposonix, which is a safe, non-surgical and non-invasive procedure that’s helpful for people like me who’s trying to lose that stubborn bit of fat that just doesn’t want to go away!
Why I chose Liposonix is because it only takes about an hour with no downtime, and also because it is non-surgical and non-invasive, unlike real liposuction that involves tubes going into your body to suck out the fat, which is not just painful, but has higher risks of complications and a much longer recovery period!
Instead, Liposonix uses high-intensity focused ultrasound to treat and eliminate stubborn fat, and you’d be able to target your problem areas specifically with the handheld treatment head. The high-intensity focused ultrasound is used to non-invasively get rid of targeted fat around your waistline (abdomen and love handles) without surgery. The average waistline reduction after just a single one-hour treatment is about 1 inch (2.5 cm) – which typically means one dress or pant size. Yup, only ONE session needed to achieve such results! Most kinds of machines usually have to go through multiple sessions (I’ve tried others before with no results despite paying for 6 sessions of treatment..) so this was a big deciding factor for me.
Being able to lose an inch with just one treatment.. Sounded exactly like what I needed! Another great thing about Liposonix is that it also helps to tighten the skin with its heating technology, so for those of us that have concerns about loose skin, Liposonix will help to tighten the skin and give it more elasticity.
I got my appointment booked with Dr Elias Tam of EHA Clinic, YZ has also gone to Dr Tam before for other procedures and I know from my sister-in-law who works in the pharmaceutical industry that Dr Tam is a very established and respected doctor/surgeon, who has been in the industry for a very long time!
***BELOW ARE PHOTOS TAKEN BEFORE AND DURING THE SESSION. ***
Please do not be alarmed to see large areas of exposed skin and fats.
After the consultation session, I had to change into an unsightly pair of disposable shorts, luckily only Dr Tam and the nurses were around to see that sight -.- A few pictures were taken for the official records, and then we started!
Firstly, Dr Tam had to “map out” the treatment areas: my tummy and my love handles! This is because the treatment is very precise and really requires mathematical accuracy for every pulse of ultrasound! Eeks, please pardon my fats. Now you know why I need to get procedures done!
All those marker dots actually turn my tummy into a grid of treatment areas that Dr Tam will use as a guide during the Liposonix procedure later on! (Please ignore those circular marks left behind as I just had a Gua Sha session done a couple days before the Liposonix treatment!)
My marked out tummy and I all ready for Liposonix!
Look at that on the screen, it’s my layers of fat! According to Dr Tam, I don’t have that much fat around my tummy area, but I don’t quite believe him. I mean, just see the pictures of my flabs.. So much fat still say don’t have?
The treatment areas are targeted one by one, and pulsed with the treatment head one by one! There’s different “levels” of intensity, and depending on how much discomfort you feel, Dr Tam adjusted the intensity of the Liposonix treatment for me.
You also don’t need to be worried about Liposonix leaving the treatment area with uneven bumps like some other machines or treatments, cos the hand held device is designed to be able to treat any part of the body, as long as it is deemed suitable by the doctor!
The Liposonix procedure wasn’t scary at all, it felt like a jet or pulse of sudden heat! On some areas it doesn’t feel like much, but I remember it feeling quite hot on my lower tummy and so I asked Dr Tam to lower the intensity for that particular area. Other than that, it’s not really that painful and I’d say it’s a mild sensation of heat.
What is happening during Liposonix is that the high-intensity ultrasound energy focuses on the targeted fat, destroying fat cells beneath the surface layers of the skin! It doesn’t harm the other layers of your skin at all, as the ultrasound energy is designed to only target the fat layer.
If you’re wondering how fat is reduced with Liposonix, the treated fat tissue is actually removed through the body’s natural healing and elimination process, leaving you with a thinner, more contoured waistline!
I was having a good time chatting to Dr Tam while he did the Liposonix procedure.. It was a good thing that Dr Tam is so friendly and easy to talk to because otherwise it might have been a dull one hour during the session!
Soon enough, the Liposonix session ended, and I was instructed to return in a month’s time for a follow-up!
It was really a very fuss-free experience, and there was no downtime at all, post-procedure! I do remember there was slightly soreness around my love handles area and a bit swelling, but it was not major at all. It has been about two months plus since I did the procedure, which is just about the time it takes for Liposonix to show optimal results: results are typically seen in 8 to 12 weeks (which is the time needed for the body to naturally process the treated fat).
Of course, Liposonix is not a replacement for a healthy lifestyle, or regular exercise and a good diet! But it is great if you’re already close to your ideal shape but have that last bit of stubborn fat around the abdomen area to lose… So I thought I’d share with you some pictures of my tummy/love handles post-procedure that I just took recently!
I might not be super slim or skinny yet, but I think I’ve seen some pretty good improvements in my physique, thanks to Liposonix, and also with the help of exercise and diet! 🙂 Gonna continue working hard!
The pictures are not photoshopped: As you can see, I’m still quite heavy-bottomed but I do feel that my fats around the abdomen area have reduced quite a bit!
If you’re thinking of getting procedures done to target fat reduction, you can certainly consider Liposonix!
Hopefully, carrying on with a healthy lifestyle with lots of exercise and the right diet will help me continue to get more toned and fit! Just another 9 more months to go, and I really want to be a healthy, happy and pretty bride! 😀
