My latest favourite cafe haunt is The Coffee Daily, located in the Serangoon Gardens estate.
Actually, I should say that this is Lina (my little sister’s) favourite cafe haunt, because this is where she’s been disappearing to for the past few months to mug away at her books, because it’s just a few minutes away from our home! Gotta love Serangoon for all the tiny little cafes/eateries popping up all over in recent years! Maybe Serangoon will be the next hipster spot hahaha.
So I tagged along with my laptop, while Lina brought her notes and books!
Anyway, I really like getting work done on Sunday. I feel like it’s my day to catch up on work, while everyone else’s on holiday for the weekend. So I’m always more relaxed and extra productive, when things get done on a Sunday! It’s like my secret extra 24 hours every week. Sounds silly huh?
The Coffee Daily is a tiny little cafe, but I like it for its friendliness: no one’s gonna give you looks of disapproval or chase you out for hogging a table or a powerpoint! Also probably because Lina’s there so often, the owners/staff all know her by name already lol.
They serve a very modest menu of hot food, but there’s a good selection of cakes and desserts on display, and I have to recommend the waffle with fresh fruits/ice cream, it’s really comfort food at its best!
Though the hot food menu ain’t a stretch by any means, the drinks menu is very extensive though, with lots of choices!
Bits and pieces of the interior decor that’s homely and mismatched. You can help yourself to some of those multicoloured icing sugar biscuits on the house!
Doesn’t these remind you of yesteryears? Those chairs!
Lina’s regular at The Coffee Daily is a Hazelnut Latte, and I was pleasantly surprised, it hit all the right spots for me! Sweet, creamy, and with the fragrant nuttiness of hazelnut. (Granted it’s just syrup, but I like!) The aroma of coffee was strong and rich without that yucky aftertaste.
Warning: It might be a tad sweet if you’re not one for sweet drinks! I like my coffee sweet, so this was perfect 😉
We stayed at The Coffee Daily for the entire Sunday, and it got progressively more and more crowded in the afternoon. Not such a conducive place to work/study on weekends, but it is much quieter on weekdays, when it almost feels like a library: everyone’s engrossed in their own activities with their cuppa!
Lina got hungry after a few hours, so she ordered this massive plate of waffle. I believe it’s either fresh fruits OR ice cream, but she asked for both lol. Pig!
My favourite waffle is still the one at Wimbly Lu, which has an amazing waffle that’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, but Wimbly Lu is really stingy with the portion of ice cream, I always have to order two scoops of ice cream!
The waffle at The Coffee Daily is fluffier and softer, less crisp, but went REALLY well with the fresh fruits and ice cream! Really addictive. I had a bite of it, and Lina polished off the entire thing by herself.
My special order, because of my no-carb diet, hahaha. This was supposed to be a roast chicken slices sandwich set, but I requested for no sandwich so tadaa! Roast chicken salad! And it was very yummy too!
One of the best-selling items at The Coffee Daily has got to be the Rainbow Cake!
We saw so many tables ordering the rainbow cake, even this table with two manly men who ordered one and were conscientiously snapping away with their phones when their cake order was served hahahaa.
I don’t blame them, it is so pretty and happy looking!
Specially for the festive season too, The Coffee Daily has added some chocolate syrup art to the already photogenic Rainbow Cake.. It’s a snowman! How cute!
Oh yes, there’s another festive special drink, the Peppermint Mocha! Totally puts me in the mood for Christmas! 😀 It tasted just as good as it looked, with a smooth chocolate flavour and richness.
One pic with the sissy!
The Coffee Daily is definitely a great cafe to visit if you stay around the area! Good for hanging out in small groups, or even if you’re looking for a place outside to get some work done. I find that I’m more productive working outside sometimes!

The pearl embellishments are so gorgeous 🙂
My watch is from Naked Glory 😀
Patent nude Mary Janes from Zara! Fell in love with them, though they are kinda too girly for me. Pretty comfy, and there’s a slight heel for a lil bit of height!
