Spend all your time waiting
For that second chance
For a break that would make it okay

There’s always some reason
To feel not good enough
And it’s hard at the end of the day

 I need some distraction
Oh beautiful release
Memories seep through my veins

Let me be empty
Oh and weightless and maybe
I’ll find some peace tonight

In the arms of the angel
Fly away from here
From this dark cold hotel room
And the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage
Of your silent reverie
You’re in the arms of the angel
May you find some comfort here

So tired of the straight line
And everywhere you turn
There’s vultures and thieves at your back

The storm keeps on twisting
Keep on building the lies
That you make up for all that you lack

 It don’t make no difference
Escaping one last time
It’s easier to believe

In this sweet madness
Oh this glorious sadness
That brings me to my knees

In the arms of the angel
Fly away from here
From this dark cold hotel room
And the endlessness that you fear

You are pulled from the wreckage
Of your silent reverie
You’re in the arms of the angel
May you find some comfort here

Not many people appreciate choral music in Singapore, and even fewer know that I spend two days a week singing and rehearsing in the SYC Ensemble Singers (formerly known as the Singapore Youth Choir) and have done so for the past five years.

Music is a huge part of my life, and everything in between from pop music to choral music, I adore and love 🙂 Music is the universal language of mankind, it is what feelings sound like. Its language is a language which the soul alone understands, but which the soul can never translate.

This arrangement of Sarah Mclachlan’s beautifully composed Angel was arranged for our choir, and we performed it at our last concert. I love the harmonies and dissonances in this piece, it’s so heart-wrenching and soothing at the same time, and I love the new life given to a familiar pop melody. It is such a gorgeous piece 🙂

I hope you listened to this video, and enjoyed this beautiful song 🙂
