once upon a time….
there was a girl who loved to blog.
i blog 好好 now. once upon a time, there was a company called Nuffnang. and although i knew of Nuffnang’s existence for very long, for a long time, i didn’t even qualify to be a Nuffnanger, cos, stupid Livejournal didn’t allow any external ads! 🙁 🙁 🙁
i finally shifted over to a .blogspot domain in July 2010 last year, and the very first i did: register with Nuffnang and put up NN ads on my side bar! 😀 😀 😀 i was so excited to start being part of Nuffnang, cos i heard SO many good things about NN, and so many amazing bloggers were under their care.
imagine my surprise and excitement, when one day, i received a phone call from this person called Huiwen, who invited me down to Nuffnang’s office.. and offered to sign me up as a talent under Nuffnang! that was it… my first step towards joining the big family known as Nuffnang, things have never been the same again and i have never looked back since 🙂 can’t believe it’s been more than a year since i’ve officially called myself a Nuffnanger, time really flies!
so… guess what my first event as a Nuffnanger was: okay… this is kind of embarrassing. HAHAHA. my first assignment was for a SANITARY PAD EVENT. how glamorous!!!
jokes aside, it was actually for Laurier’s “Are you a shooting star?” event, and i actually had lots of fun at the event together with Gina, to complete the “Amazing Race”-esque competition: it was hard work lor!
so much for being a “talent” blogger, but hey come on, it was a good event okay! i brought home practically a year’s supply of sanitary pads (OMG it’s really one years supply cos i still have some left OMGOMG i’m amazed!!!!) and a fuji instax cam. read that entry here!
well.. moving on, i attended my very first food tasting session at McCafe thanks to Nuffnang, and also got to meet some of the other bloggers i would later on make friends with, such as Valerie (dweam), Nadia (nadnut) and Brad (ladyironchef: VOTE FOR HIM FOR THE NAPBAS!!!) not to mention being able to be the first few to experience McCafe’s Toffe Nut Latte (good stuff, i tell you) and learn how to be my very own barista!
read more about my experience at McCafe here!
Nuffnang didn’t just fill my tummy with yummy food, it taught me how to doll up and look pretty by sending me to Bobbi Brown’s beauty workshop, which i attended with SK, and we had a ball of a time learning how to be total gorgeousnesssss and hotness!!!

i totally did not see this coming, but whadya know, Nuffnang got me my first sponsored advertorial, and it was for….
wait for it…
an ADULT TOY WEBSITE.
which was definitely a first (and last) in the history of yinagoh. needless to say, it was one of the most challenging blog posts i’ve ever written, in order to bring the subject matter across in as healthy and matter-of-fact manner as i could. but i accepted the challenge, and now it’s definitely something interesting to tell new friends and advertisers. “Guess what, i did an advertorial for an adult toy website before!” LOL.
there are some pretty interesting facts about the history of sex toys that you can read more about here!
one of the great things about Nuffnang, is the amazing array of companies working closely with them, and here i am at TrendMicro’s event, learning all about how to protect my computer from all sorts of malicious bugs, viruses, spyware and etc. it may sound dry and boring, but i gotta give it to Nuffnang, they manage to make even the most boringest sounding event become exciting!
read about TrendMicro here!
what did i say about Nuffnang keeping me well-fed? (and probably ruining any diet plans i ever attempted to have) i was brought back to my favorite fast food restaurant McDonald’s early this year in February for a special four course gourmet dinner, i doubt many people can boast that they’ve been to fine dining at McDonalds before 😛 TEEHEE.
some familiar faces, Brad and Bea! as well many amazing food bloggers… and the Chicken McGrill is totally my favorite burger at McDs now!
how could i forget!!!! Nuffnang didn’t just send me to places, it even sent me friends and supporters as well, during the time YZ and I were taking part in K歌2击队 on Channel 8, i told Huiwen about it and she gathered a bunch of lovely supporters from the Glitterati Club, with the help of HongPeng, to rally for us and cheer us on during the quarter finals of K歌2击队, of which we ended up getting the highest score for and proceeded on to the next round!!! couldn’t have done it without the roaring cheers and applause from these dearest supporters!! 感动!!
read about it here, and watch us sing our hearts out!
singing aside, i even had to bring out my rusty design and graphic skills specially for Nuffnang, to Make a Fresh Face for Marigold Peel Fresh, and i’m really proud to have taken part in such an iconic household brand’s 25th anniversary!
spent quite a lot of time working on this artwork for the contest!
i’m embarrassed to admit that i’ve never actually been clubbing before. I KNOW RIGHT. how many 24 year olds can say that so shamelessly. ME. i am so uncool. but the folks at Nuffnang don’t just know how to work, partying is right up their alley, and i was brought to Butter Factory and Avalon, both via invitations from Nuffnang!
even got to get up close with some really cool people like Rozz and Shan from 987, amongst others! read on about PeelFresh’s 25th birthday bash here!
even managed to check out the hottest and latest club in town, Avalon! for mioTV and Robinson’s Fashion Party, along side gorgeous babes like Bea, Valerie, Nicole, Vel, Nadia, and many more! not to mention the breathtaking fashion show which got us all ooh-ing and aah-ing! read about Prime Time Fall Fashion here!
need a break from all that partying? no worries, cos Nuffnang’s got me covered with fantastic treats such as the spa session i did with Spa Rael, thanks to DEAL.com.sg!
shiok to the max! read about my pampering session here!
who needs Redbull anymore when you’ve got Nuffnang, cos Nuffnang Gives You Wings!!!! i was thrilled to get the chance to travel to Manila, the Philippines for a sponsored trip, and it’s all thanks to Nuffnang! oh how i heart you so, Nuffnang. being able to travel abroad for an assignment is like a dream come true, at least for me!
at the poshest ever hotel, Maxims Tower, in Manila, Philippines! read my day one entry here.
and the very last event i just attended, a couple weeks ago, with some of the loveliest beauty/lifestyle bloggers i know, Elizabeth Arden’s Red Door event, which was a cozy private affair which got me new friends as well ^_^
with Claire, Michelle (not in picture), Qiuting, Valerie and Sarah!
my short one year journey with Nuffnang so far has been nothing short of incredible. i never once thought that through this humble blog, i would be able to do so much, make so many new friends from all walks of life, and even travel to places i’ve never been to before! and it’s all because of Nuffnang! #emo
NO, it’s not the end!!! it doesn’t end here: things are just getting bigger and better!
