I have obviously been eating too much good food recently, and I feel so fat :(
Time to watch my diet more carefully! But that would also mean less food blog content on this blog.... *reluctant* Guess we have got to choose our battles wisely, and decide which to tackle and which not to :P And I need to exerciseeee! Don't know why I've been just so damn busy (and lazy) lately. Geez.
Nonetheless, brunch at Au Chocolat with Evonne and Eve was really lovely! I like it that Au Chocolate is situated in a quiet corner of MBS, with lots of light streaming into the quaint little bistro section that has been done up in such European fashion. The attention to detail really show as well, look up to the ceiling and you'd spot a running clockwork train making its rounds around a track along the ceiling, how cute!
If you're been looking around for some really good truffle fries, you have got to order the truffle fries at Au Chocolat! They are thick and potatoey with a crisp outside and infused with the delicious and earthy aroma of truffle. It also came paired with mayonnaise and BBQ sauce, both of which were so shiok that I was dipping my fries in one after the other! I usually prefer shoe-string fries over the thick-cut variety, but I couldn't say no to these!
As for mains, I ordered the savoury crepes while Evonne and Eve shared an eggs ben. Loved the crepes because it came with a generous heaping of prawns, clams and crabmeat in white wine and red shallots cream, delicious! The portion was huge as well and I had to share with the other two girls.
There were so much more on the menu that looked so tempting, but we were already stuffed because of the truffle fries! I have heard many good things about Au Chocolat's desserts and that's definitely gonna be on the agenda for my next visit.
