makeup essentials!

yoohoo!! :D
at the office now, which is a huge mess of stocks and parcels!!
we had a long tiring day yesterday packing/mailing parcels, clearing emails etc.. and everyone was so deadbeat at the end of the day!

oh well.
all part and parcel of the business.. but it's really satisfying when happy customers email back to tell us that they've received their items and love them! makes all the hard work worthwhile :) just completed doing the stocking-in for FirstDay, and taking a short break before i tackle the emails in the inbox! feeling much more energized today after a good sleep last night!

so i thought i'd blog abit and share about some of my daily make-up essentials, since there were a few questions on Formspring asking about the products/brands i use and such. i wanted to do an entire make-up walk through, but since it's pretty time consuming, i'll leave that til next time okay? :D

deng deng deng deng!!! what i use on a almost daily basis for my basic day makeup! :)

so usually after cleansing and toning my face, i moisturise with Biotherm's Aquasource Deep Hydration Moisturiser (i've shared about this product here before so i won't go into so much detail again). also, remember i mentioned a "miracle" product many many many entries ago which i said cleared up my complexion alot?

it's this little bottle here: called Jyunka Multi-Action Miracle Fluid! it's actually Vitamin C serum and did wonders for my complexion, especially my forehead! look at the before & after of my forehead in this blog post here. hahaha. it's very expensive though, cost almost $300 for a small bottle or something and i bought it from a friend who bought it from a facial salon (it's one of those exclusive facial salon brand thingamy) so i'm not sure where you can get it from...

moving on!

eyes are the window to the soul and all that, and colored contacts really brightens up the eyes! i'm in love with FreshLook's ColourBlends recently, and have been wearing the Hazel color (as shown above) which is a shade of brown that looks pretty natural, but still makes my eyes lok more sparkley :D i hardly wear those barbie eye contacts anymore because i find them too big for my liking, and makes me look very strange :( these regular sized colored contacts are perfect for me!
next up: my makeup base and foundation! yet another rave product from Biotherm, this White D-Tox BB Cream is really great, it's light and goes on smoothly on my face, a little bit goes a long way! it has brightening/whitening properties, so my face looks brighter after application, and it evens out my complexion as well :D it's supposed to have 24-hour hydration and oil free properties too and i really like it that it doesnt feel like my entire face is caked with makeup with i use this. LOVE!
can't live without these products!
the most important part of my make-up process for me is to conceal my terribly dark under circles/redness around the nose, and i use this cream concealer called Beauty Tech Ice-cream Concealer. this used to be available in Sasa locally, but for some reason they discontinued the brand! :( so now i ask a friend to get it from me from Hongkong! it's very creamy and has great coverage! been using it for years, and i still continue to stick with it because i havent yet found any other concealer that works for me better than this.
after concealer, i usually do abit of eye makeup to enhance my eyes, and this is my most frequently reached for palette, Majolica Majorca's Fake on Eye Shadow :D the pigmentation is quite strong, and i like to use the lighter shades as a base across my entire eyelid, and then the darker colors to accentuate the outer corners of my eyes! it has a slight shimmer too and i like how my eyes look instantly brighter with it on :D
the 2nd most important makeup product for me: eyeliner! helps to define the eyes and enlarge them. i'm using a liquid eyeliner, from the brand K-Palette, and it's called 24hour Tattoo eyeliner or something haha. sounds scary, but its staying power is really good and its quite waterproof so it doesnt smudge! you can find it at Watsons, for less than $20 i think! :D very economical and cheap!
lastly.. when you want to frame up those eyes with some Bambi lashes, this is the mascara to use :D :D :D Majolica Majorca's Lash Expander really makes my lashes x 2 times longer and lusher! you can even use it on your bottom lashes if your fingers are delicate enough :D i forgot to mention that Majolica Majorca's products are also available at most Watson's stores :)
my last step is usually to dust on some loose powder/pressed powder especially around the eye area so that the makeup stays, and apply abit of lip balm/lip gloss! but sometimes i don't bother. depends on how long you need your makeup to last! :)))
this is a new find of mine! a powder blush from the Makeup Store, and the shade is aptly called "Must Have" :D :D :D it's a rosy coral blush that goes on very naturally! the shade looks more scary in the pan than it actually is, and i really love how it looks after application :)
and what i use to apply my blush with: Bobbi Brown's Kabuki Brush! feels very soft and luxe on the skin, and it's big enough for me to apply the powder blush properly! small and compact enough for me to carry around, too :D
tadaaa!!! all made-up with the afore-mentioned products :D this was for our last dinner in Warsaw, Poland, so i did slightly heavier eye makeup using the Majolica Majorca eye palette :))) yayyy.
that's about it for my make-up products entry!! perhaps i'll do a step-by-step walk through when i have abit more time on my hands!

  1. Hello Yina babe!
I second that Beauty Tech concealer is awesome! Got it from HKG too. <3 I used it before and swore that I will only use this and nothing else. Haha.. I wanted to restock it during my trip last year but the SASA HKG said they discontinued it too? So sad loh.. have to find another concealer which is as awesome as beauty tech..
